Some manufacturers like Xiaomi already have a very annoying flow for enabling developer options and using ADB. You need to have a SIM card inserted, need to create a Xiaomi account and there's several popups with timers you have to wait through.

If an exchange got compromised there's no way you would know you're sending to the attackers address

Re:Pinterest's simple tech stack to scale to 11M monthly users on Saturday December 23, 2023 @08:31AM (#38744110)
Interesting that they use both Redis and Memcache at the same time. Is there any particular reason for that?
Would be amazing if you could get this swapped in and out for a longer roadtrip

Re:An Internet of PHP on Saturday September 09, 2023 @05:50AM (#37443692)
Well it's not exactly secure by default. I was deploying an app to a new server and some bot grabbed my .env file before I finished the Apache config. Ultimately it's my own stupidity, but you don't have to worry about that with most other languages
Re:Plastic Money on Monday September 04, 2023 @06:11AM (#37378966)
I've just used this in Malaysia, they have a card called Touch n Go that is very widely accepted. You can load up the card using cash terminals or via a smartphone app with NFC, you can use that to check the balance as well

Re:Hackers manage to unlock Tesla software-locked features on Thursday August 03, 2023 @03:57PM (#36990951)

Re:Introducing the Nano ESP32 on Monday July 17, 2023 @06:51PM (#36765171)

Apple doesn't really address gaming and it will be pretty hard to port over existing games due to the lack of controllers. Which is pretty unfortunate, since VR gaming is a much more unique value proposition than reading your emails and watching TV in VR. Same goes for Meta - who wants to sit in VR work meetings?
Re:The end of the Silicon Valley dream on Sunday June 04, 2023 @07:53AM (#36184895)

Re:The end of the Silicon Valley dream on Sunday June 04, 2023 @07:46AM (#36184852)
Apple devices are luxury products, not necessities. Sure, they may make your life marginally better, but it's nothing world changing
