uBlock does not contain a local LLM, but relies on manual human labor.
Re:StackOverflow now gets fewer than 1000 questions a month on Thursday October 29, 2026 @06:06AM (#50286725)
Very much agree.

The query in this thread further confirms it, by november 2022 (ChatGPT reveal), usage had already dropped to ~109120 questions/month as compared to peak usage in March 2014 at 207169 questions/month.

The trend continued since but their decline is surely not caused by LLM:s.

What kinda insult is that?

The question was about good software. Those photoshop clones won't even let you get basic work done.

Good old confirmation bias.

And here I was thinking this was proved beyond any reasonable doubt when 4chan users spoofed the Time Magazine person of the year poll of 2009 to spell out "MARBLECAKE, ALSO THE GAME" by the initials of the top winners:

https://techcrunch.com/2009/04/27/time-magazine-throws-up-it...

Or when Kim Jong Un won in 2012, spelling out "KJUGASCHAMBER":

Re:Ogre Battle 64 Recompiled Project at 99.05% on Monday September 21, 2026 @07:08AM (#49785681)
I think you are being misguided. The repository itself contains disassembly directly from the copyrighted ROM, and is thus not original work.

Luckily preservationists are found outside such ridiculous jurisdictions, and most recognized titles have been preserved for a long while already.

Are you describing a plex feature? I was under the impression they required the media to follow certain naming conventions. [1]

Maybe mkv-renamer is of use to you? [2]

Maybe I'm old school but

big announcement

> We'll be making a new release later today

Back in my day this would not make for excitement. On the contrary. (We would expect months/years? of release candidates, test releases and such)

How come a recognized brand such as GrapheneOS speak like this?

Have their leadership fallen to AI psychosis too?

Re:Nitter is unarchived and will continue on Sunday September 06, 2026 @05:03PM (#49590934)
That's bullshit and you knowingly muddying the waters here, mr nazi.

He even claimed it was a "roman salute".

No such thing exists.

The nazis popularized it, and everyone who passed middle school knows this.

Even Musk knows this.

Re:Nitter is unarchived and will continue on Sunday September 06, 2026 @03:06PM (#49589724)
If millions of people don't feel nazi salutes is reasons enough to move on, then what do you expect to accomplish by force?
Re:QBittorrent breaks out of sandbox to commit crimes on Sunday September 06, 2026 @02:37PM (#49589474)
How you remembered it is anecdotal, it's not relevant for the discussion unless you add something of value.

Way back when is not when it broke mainstream. It's when the service started getting attention.

It was literally pitched as a "micro blog site" for techies to communicate news, and the "app" was 160 character SMS messages.

Nerds used it as a free (as in beer) way of sending alert SMS on server errors. (At least I did).

In 2008, twitter had already started to become mainstream, quickly shifting focus away from nerd interests.

Re:QBittorrent breaks out of sandbox to commit crimes on Sunday September 06, 2026 @11:53AM (#49587726)
FWIF, way back when, Twitter was the "Twitter for tech nerds".

Lots of water under the fridge since...

Yea, with just a single drive it's not really a backup is it?

> If I copy some files with zfs to another drive, I'd also like to check that there wasn't an error in the copying process.

That's what rsync is for.

> I wouldn't mind buying a mirror set a year or two ago, but storage is so expensive now.

Prices went up, yes but not that much to be fair. And I think it mostly affected M2 disks.

Here's my very limited notes on HDD prices.

In 21 october 2023, a 22 TB disk cost me 0.37 SEK per gigabyte.

In 28 may 2026, a 26 TB disk cost me 0.36 SEK per gigabyte.

Both were WD red disks.

Funny you say that, as I was installing Ubuntu on peoples laptops and it just worked, like 15 years ago... :-)

Using kitty's graphics protocol is not ssh nor "works over ssh".

FWIW, I blocked the US for a while.

Eventually, my lets encrypt cert expired and it turns out certbot is run from USA, so the auto renewal failed me.

Re:Triton: DirectX 11 Driver for QEMU on Sunday August 09, 2026 @05:29AM (#49229847)
You'll get best compatibility for 20+ year Windows gaming using either

A) qemu with a XP/Vista guest and a older dedicated nvidia gpu pass thru.

B) Fully software using 86box/pcem but performance will suffer.

In Norway, the oldest written records are barely 1000 years old.
Don't fall for the whataboutism trap.
This situation only exist because Microsoft would allow kernel level anti-cheat in the first place, which is a moronic feat wrt security.
